We are actively seeking a Technician - Naval Architecture to support the work of the superintendents at our Verreault shipyard. The incumbent will participate in the various stages of ship repair in collaboration with the different departments.

 

YOUR TYPICAL DAY

Reporting to the –Director - Operations, you will have to:

  •   Draw up plans and issue the technical specifications necessary for the execution of the projects according to the contractual requirements and the standards in force;
  •   Participate in the analysis of calls for tenders by describing the technical aspect of the projects, validating the feasibility and the associated risks, etc.;
  •   Participate in the analysis of the specifications and the development of the estimate;
  •   Contribute to the planning of the work and integration of procedures, standards and guidelines;
  •   Develop quality and inspection plans and inspect work to ensure that processes comply with client specifications and applicable standards;
  •   Assist production personnel with vessel marking onboard, structural erection, piping, mechanical, fitting work, etc.
  •   Establish, update and validate performance standards during execution of work;
  •   Contribute to continuous improvement in all operational departments;
  •   Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

 

OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE

  •   College degree in naval architecture technology;
  •   Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in a similar role;
  •   Proficiency in AutoCAD drawing software and good skills with the Microsoft Office Suite;
  •   Team spirit and thoroughness;
  •   Good stress tolerance;
  •   Intermediate English, oral and written;
  •   CGSB card (asset).
