Virgil Légaré, Deckhand

At Ocean Group, twenty deckhands occupy permanent, stable jobs close to home. A strong camaraderie reigns between them. There is a lot of team spirit and support. Combining manual tasks and resourcefulness, the job of deckhand requires practically the same skills as the construction industry, according to Virgil: to be proactive, observant, thorough, comfortable on the water and with manual work.

Véronique joined Ocean as part of an integration and staff training project *. She took courses at the IMQ and was accompanied by our internal CAP training program to obtain all the necessary certifications to work aboard our tugs. Véronique is now a deckhand and is perfectly integrated into the teams.
